Upcycled Jewelry

A Gift from Malie focuses on reusing plastics that would normally end up in our landfills and turning them into something beautiful. I collect a variety of plastics from around the island including but not limited to beverage containers, shampoo and conditioner bottles, food containers, shipping materials, plastic bags, and packaging plastics. All materials are thoroughly cleaned before being reused. I then cut out my designs by hand before decorating and embossing certain pieces or working them into my wire wrapped creations. Heat may be used in embossing and shaping plastics.

The result is beautiful and lightweight jewelry in unique styles and arrangements. All jewelry are handmade on Kauai and are certified Kaua’i Made products.

Earrings are currently for sale on Kaua’i at the Koke’e Museum in Koke’e State Park, Island Art Gallery in Hanapepe, and Kaua’i Museum in Lihue. Let’s do our part to reduce, reuse and recycle by turning trash into treasures!
